From a very happy owner:

“Just finished the Swiftsure Race. We have sailed our Sabre 426 four times in this event and finished 1,3,1,3 in our division. The boat is essentially 100% equipped for cruising. The only partial race equipment is a cruising spinnaker in a snuffer. Only other sails are dacron roller furled 135% and dacron fully battened main with lazy jacks. We race with Dodger up, 50 lb. plow anchor with 150 feet of chain in the bow. The boat has every option Sabre offers.

This year’s event was very light air upwind (2-8 knots) the whole way. We rounded the halfway point first in our class and third overall on handicap. We beat many boats around that mark that owed us up to a minute a mile! We hung in there coming back from the turning mark and ended up third in our class. We were one of only 31 finishers out of 192 starters.

The boat has phenomenal performance in all conditions and points of sail. I can only dream how we would have done with racing sails. She’s a beautiful yacht. Thanks for designing her.”
